300i downtown    regular riding go with the flow up to 80 mph. some time passing go up to 90 mph.  top speed on lonely  stretch of road 94 mph.  country roads 50 to 60 mph.  or what ever the speed limit is,  and never tail gate ,  and watch out for tractors they dont look to turn off ,no turn sygnals,.

I ride mine like I stole it!  Absolutely loves to be flogged. Had it up to 94 or 96 and does fine, but a bit more comfortable at 80 and under. I'm usually the first off the line when the light turns green. Love to let her rip!

When I'm alone I take it easy and try to get the best mpg I can.  When I'm in traffic I'm darting around everyone to get ahead of the pack so I can have a better view of the road and be better seen.  Or I fall the the back of the pack so I can keep an eye on the people that drive while talking on the phone, eating a doughnut, and drinking coffee all at the same time. I always out accelerate everyone at traffic lights.

I'm almost 71 now, so I've slowed down a bit. I enjoy beating a occasional cager at a traffic light now and then, but most of my riding is on back roads at 40 while enjoying the scenery. I have some interstate commuting to do though, so it's nice to be able to go 70 or 75 if necessary. Probably 80 is about the fastest I've ridden, but she had more left in the throttle.

My usual riding is on state roads around here, where the limits are 45 - 55 mph. Today I took a little run up to a town named "Hatch, NM"  for one of their great BBQ sandwiches...about 37 miles each way...took about 50 minutes. I took a run up to Alamagordo, NM last week on a US hwy, speed limit was 75 and I tried to keep it at 70-72 mph...about 62 miles each way. I was checking out a slider installation and occasionally the speed went up over 80 mph

It's certainly good to know the GT is good for every speed I need! I'll be hitting the age of 79 in a few weeks, and my needs for higher speeds are definitely decreasing!

Can it sustain 75-80MPH on long freeway drives?  The reason I'm asking is I'm considering a job that is ~31 miles out and has a 1 mile hill (7-9% grade) in the middle of the commute.  That brings it to 62 miles daily.  Can the 300i take this daily commute?

I have taken mine to 75 MPH on occasion but I mostly ride at 25 - 55 in the city. I accelerate fast and lean hard. While it is not a motorcycle, it sure is a fun scooter at 300cc...

I ride 70 to 80 mph on my way home daily.  I've ridden over 90 twice now.  I'm heavy too.

Unless someone says otherwise because they own the GT300i, I can assure you that your scoot can handle this with ease. My Yager 200 did a similar commute and my round trip was between 50-70 miles depending on the route I took (sometimes longer one for scenic reasons or construction delays). This small scooter engines are quite fantastic and under-rated, imo.

OEM tires on my GTi300 are P rated, meaning up to 93 MPH. Do you really think Kymco would risk the lawsuits that would result from tire failure if these machines could exceed that speed?   Using GPS on level road and no wind I had mine up to 84 MPH.

my favorite speed now days is 30-40 mph puttering along on back roads.
When I was younger and owned fast motorcycles, a few times I went 130 mph. Yea, that was stupid. It was common for me to hit 100 mph back then.
I have had my GT to 95 "speedo", one time, just to see what it would do.
98% of the time I do the speed limit. If there is no traffic around me, I like to putter.
This spring, 2015, I was out riding and three cruisers were behind me. I got a tickle in my butt for some strange reason and decided on a little action.
We were on a long sweeping, curvy, two lane highway.
I cranked the GT, the cruisers came up on me fast, so I let go of the rains. The GT ran off and left them way behind.
Not sure if the cruiser riders did not want to kill themselves or they didn't know the road that well.
I came up behind a cop and had to slow down. After a few minutes, I made a right turn.
When the cruiser riders went by me as I turned, they gave me a toot.
Bet they were wondering how that cute little scoot with a top box could run like that. Ha.
I don't make a habit of doing this. Guess the Devil made me do it.
The older I get, the slower I get.

I used to ride my first GT like I stole it. I would just let it rip all over the place. To much fun doing that but speeding is not a good idea. To bad I had to find that out the hard way. So with my new GT I am staying more to the speed limit and trying to be as safe as possible. Still having a great time but I do feel like this is the way i should ride.

Ride safe, mscmkr
