uh oh.. Bulb fell out of socket
« on: April 05, 2015, 04:46:36 AM »
Any ideas on how to get it out? Do I need to remove the black panel under the front tire?

Search "running light" from Stig in search window, "like200i"
You can reach light by turning aside front wheel, reach under to light with finger tips. Push it back in.
Also, open glove box, remove black panel in there to access the bulb holder.
NO  major panels have to be removed to deal with these little running lights.
Ask if still having trouble.....

Thanks Stig but the bulb is stuck in the light housing.. Please view my picture I posted above.  I tried a magnet and tweezers. I'd lift the bike vertical and try to shake it out but it's too heavy.. I think my only option is to remove the light housing?

Sheee-ooot.....couldn't see that on my cellphone.
I got nothing for you.....I'll see what I can find on my cyclepedia.com.....we have the same bodywork on these Likes.
Cannot get to it thru the back of glove box?.... worse case, leave it in there...tell folks it's a spare.

I used some of that sticky tack for posters on the end of a bamboo skewer to get a bulb out of a turn signal housing on my wife's car once. Maybe the same thing would work here?

demeter, checked the cyclepedia.com manual....looks like you can get a better look into that housing by removing the 4 screws and 4 clips on that black panel behind the front wheel.
The housing may be glued into the front piece....but maybe you can use the above trick to get the bulb out through the bulb hole?
I almost lost the bulb in there a couple of times myself...it is tricky & easy to push the bulb right out of the rubber carrier.
Keep us posted please.

Victory! I got it. I had to remove the black cover behind the front tire. I used a toothpick to orientate the bulb and then used tweezers to very carefully grab it and pull it out. It felt just like playing Operation as a kid.. ;D

Thanks Stig and ParaIndiana!
