Mounting a Kodak Playsport on a Kymco Like
« on: April 14, 2015, 01:24:46 PM »
Anyone ever tried to mount a Kodak Playsport on one of their Kymco Machines? I hate how bulky GoPros are, just wasn't sure if one of those $12.95 mounts from Amazon would work, or would the video be too bumpy? Any suggestions? I have a Kodak Playsport ZX3 as seen in the below picture

no.
If you are looking for something very small, light weight, reasonably priced, that takes good vids (1080P), take a look at the Mobious Action Cam.
Mounting attachments available for handle bar, helment, etc..
About $75-$80 if I remember correctly.
There are pictures of the camera + vids posted on this forum.

Mounting to the scooter your vids will show a lot more bumps and jolts than if you body mount. I have mounted my GoPro via the suction cup to the leg shield and with the standard mount to my helmet and the helmet shoots are a lot smoother.

I just picked up a Ion Air Pro Lite.  ($97 Best Buy half price).  Probably do a helmet mount.  Hopefully not to capture hitting a moose.  Just want to show the great scenery riding Alaska's roads.

I've mounted a Mobius ActionCam and an 808 #16 on my Like.

Suction cup mount mounted onto the speedo or front panel.

I saw a vid on youtube where this guy mounts his playsport inside of his full face helmet by rigging up a velcro strap inside where a breather would normally go, that's just too claustrophobic for me, especially in hot ole' Texas.

So I decided to purchase the following mount:

http://www.amazon.com/Action-Camera-Handlebar-Tripod-Mounting/dp/B005ISU8BU/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1429105101&sr=8-7&keywords=usa+gear+mount

Decided i'm going to try mounting it on the left handlebar first, if that doesn't work i'll find some other way to rig it up. Thanks for your thoughts & opinions!  :D :D :D
