should i buy?
« on: April 19, 2015, 09:19:37 PM »
Saw a 2012 2 stroke Super 8 for sale here in town. Looks clean. Guy wants $600. I would of course try to talk him down. Seems like a good deal on a three year old bike, if it hasn't been run into the ground. what do ya'll think?

There is like new 2013 Super 8 50 2T close to me, asking $1200.  I think about buying it everyday LOL's.  2T basically same engine as Super 9 AC, and People 50 2T.  The Tecnigas pipe I bought will fit S9, People 50 2T, and S8 50 2T.  Once you figure out how to make your S9 run fast, should be same for S8?

Seems Super 8 50 2T's have difficulty going faster than mid 40 mph for some reason, may be some issue I am not aware of?

Whats wrong with it?  I see it on CL, looks good to me.  $600 may be too high.  You in NC right?  I see S9's close to you from time to time, I would save for used S9, they are so cool, I would have 3 of them if didn't have to drive 1000 miles to get one.  Cheers
1st and 2nd usually have an unfair advantage.  3rd is usually the best, can learn the most from.  paraphrased from Don Quixote, over 400 years ago, still true today

I'm just thinking of trying something different.  Yeah,  I'm in asheville, NC.  There's a guy selling his s9 that needs "carb work" for $700. It's exactly like mine,  but I bought mine for 675 running with less on the odometer.  He claims to be firm on the price.  Must be because it's been there a long while now.  I actually spoke with him once and was going to go look at it,  but I caved.
I really shouldn't be buying anything.  I should be doing the crank and seals on the tgb r50x I bought. I've been procrastinating, making excuses like "I need a better work area". It looks sharp,  wide thirteen inch wheels and dual disc brakes.
