I put together these vids after my return trip. As far as the ride went, it was uneventful (thankfully). Just tried to document what I did. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions (constructive criticism) post it up or leave a comment on the video. ENJOY!

Wayne, Nice videos.
Glad your scooter worked well for you and that you avoided any big weather!
Before I had a family I hitched w/pack and guitar across the USA 3 times.
I carried a plastic sheet to make the pup tent out of with found materials, and a gallon canteen (heavy but essential in arid areas of the SW and Baja Mex.)
Heat the cans of food in their can - but pierce them first !! - so no explosions! (even heated the cans in filling station RR's under hot water for a time in cities like Frisco where you can't build open fires!)
Oatmeal and spam. Bring salt.

How far did you travel - round trip?
So, you don't use a top case? (a plug here for my fav. non-expensive top case - lots of room, comes with all the lights and it's own mounting platform and hardware. Lights & size are the best bits - and that price. @$125 BESTEM 929 w/lights. Makes your rear so much safer!)

Seems like you had a nice adventure - & on your scooter. Super job!
Thanks for sharing.

Scooter camping is something I would like to try.

Your videos were very good. I enjoyed watching them. This is something I have been thinking of doing for two years. Got to get my butt in gear and just do it.

ps: Are you the man that had a crash about a year ago and stayed away from motor scooters for awhile?. Or am I confusing you with someone else?.

Thanks for your videos I really enjoyed them. Please keep them coming! Include how many miles you travel and some video of you riding on any new ones. Love them!

And Boo, you may be thinking about me. I had a wreck on my GT last august 30th. Currently looking into buying another one......maybe. Not sure but I am missing it like crazy. Especially when I see vids like these. Makes me want to buy one and get out of town on it like yesterday!

Ride safe, mscmkr

It was 140 miles to the state park. My next trip will be closer. About 375 miles over 2 days if you include the extra riding to meet my friend and see some sites. I'm having a hard time trying to decide on whether I want a top case or not but thanks for the BESTEM idea.

Remember now.
I too have had a couple of episodes on motor cycles and motor scooters. It does something to your mind.
Strange thing is, the closest i've come to being killed was on bicycles when I was a kid. I was being doubled by other boys both times.
I am like you. I love riding so much, I cannot quit.

Thanks for sharing. That looks like a fun way to go camping. You had a good amount of equipment. Did you use mostly items designed for backpackers?

Are these iphone videos?

Did you upload these directly from the iphone or did you change the file format to speed uploading?

I upload a short 2-3 minute video from my iphone and it takes time, this is with a upload speed of around 38 mbps (my DL speed is not very good tonight).

Tested at 42 here, running wireless or I would be better.

Trout,
The cookset is definitely for backpackers but yes that's the idea. Small, small, small. I just looked at YT videos for ideas and took as little as possible. I'm a fair weather amper so just a small tent from walmart. Sleeping bag was not small but it fit fine with the other stuff. Looked for a folding camp chair but when I saw the prices for those really small ones (too much) so I just took a regular one that I had in the garage. Didn't seem to hang out that much from the sides. Food took up a lot of room in the saddlebags. Only took one bottle of water and then refilled with spigot water at the site. Had a lot of fun but the experience of camping by myself was definitely different. Need to get a group together. That will be even more fun.

TLRam,
I'd kill for your connection. I'm only uploading at 1Mb/sec. Usually do it overnight. This particular video is iPhone video. I import it into iMovie on my Mac, edit it and upload to YT. You must have FIOS DSL for those kind of speeds. Frontier tells me I'm as fast as I can get with 7Mb down and 1Mb up. Looking to change provider but cable has a limit and they tack on charges for extra GB. With Frontier, the price is the price and I can pump as much data all month long for the same money.

I read something on you tube about converting your file to a different format to aid in uploading but not tried nor have a program to do so.

Wireless I normally run speeds of 38-40 up and down, wired I am 50 plus up and down on, you got it, FIOS. I did watch your Maple Syrup brew, NOW I know why it cost so much! After that, how was the flavor and is it worth making your own?

It was a fun experience but you definitely need the economics of scale to make it worth it. We got a couple meals out of it and the flavor was good. Sugar Maple trees are apparently the best to use even though you can use any variety of maple tree.
