Heavier sliders will improve top speed RPM. But when the variator is maxed out (Around 80mph on my 250) there is nothing you can do to reduce the rpm, because the bike is in it's final gear ratio. The variator is as big as you can go, only a few MM away from the engine case. A slightly larger diameter rear tire will help a little, double check if there is enough room to squeeze that in there. Otherwise, I ride my 250 at 7500-8000 rpm all day long with no problems what so ever. Hope this helps.
