Quick question to all of you GT300i owners. Do you use a new oil filter every time you change your oil? I put on around 1500 miles a year & I do change it out every time. The HiFlo #566 cost around $3.00 per filter.

I change my oil and filter every 1000 miles. That will probably equate to about once a year. I bought a case of filters and use full synthetic oil in the engine and rear end. Quick and cheap insurance for my investment IMHO.

Stig: Will do! My wife & I live in such a great seacoast village (population around 1500) More in the summer months.

Here's a couple of links of our little village:

This 2nd link is kind of cool as it shows from an aerial view:

Thanks MASS - looking forward to those pix.
I called my daughter in to look at the aerial pix - got her to come look at a "scooter forum" by telling her this is the place that George Clooney died in the big storm. (she just did a school paper on old George C. if you can believe that - she's a big fan of his . "Oceans" are her fav movies)
She just went, "Wow, that is so pretty." I agree. Good on you.
I lived in Amherst for a time - worked at Springfield Hosp. My fav mental health day-offs were when I drove to watch the sun come up on the coast, and have a large Duncan D coffee. (my idea became so popular with the hosp. crew - we'd pile into my buddie's big Audi and set sail for the coast - wipe out half of the unit!)
Good on you two!

Right you are !- IMHO
Don't dump new oil in an old filter!
Cheap insurance - well said!
(you ought to see how infrequently they all advise doing oil changes on the 300 Honda scoots! Get right aggressive if you do it more often! And I use the specified Honda OEM filters and Honda specific oil with "M" - really lights 'em up.)

Well...I took my GT300i out for spin two weeks ago & noticed my left fork was dripping a decent amount of oil. My seal was broken. Brought it to the dealer & it will cost me $251.00 OTD with labor. I haven't looked-up the part, but he quoted me $145.00 for the whole seal assembly (I guess you can't but just a seal?) Anyway...I received a call today that the part is in & I should have it on Wednesday. I only have about 2500 miles on my GT300i, but I guess things happen. Sucks as my People S200 was rock-solid with the exception of the odometer cable that crapped out on me.
