Stig's patented "Visor Buddie"
« on: May 03, 2015, 10:34:33 PM »
Invented this myself.
Always carry a roll under my seat now for those low-sun times on the scoot.

Hey it works and it is better than riding around one handed.

lulz

I have something similar on a few of my visors. I have a strip of the pealable / removable window tint. You can get this stuff at any local auto store, or online. I currently use the "medium" tint, and works well for my evening commute. My morning commute is either dark, or away from the morning sun. I do recommend the darker tint for those that have a long commute w/ direct sunlight.

My HJC has a sunvisor ( inside the regular visor) that I can just push a button to put it down or raise it up .

You need to get some made up with "STIG" logo on them, motorcycle racers have tear offs that I'm sure you could get made with that logo.

The other  morning I stopped at two auto parts stores - after fighting the sun.
I could not buy a small piece of the window tint....cheapest piece was $17.

I will try a window tint shop next, for a scrap.

I cannot wear any helmet with a drop-down insert - the edge of that drop-down either hits my glasses - or rests a few mm's away from my nose - like a blade ready to cut me in an off.

My daughter offered me some Snoopy print wall edging she had left over - but it is nearly permanent when glued on.

6 Hondas ago I had a Bell helmet with a 'visor', like my man, Jim Clark. It snapped on. You could do the visor - or snap a  clear bubble face shield on.:

This was before full face helmets came on the scene, top of the line safety equipment.

At sun down you just dipped your head a bit.

I forgot to mention in my initial post, the tint stuff I purchased comes in a roll :p Therefore, you will need to cut a piece, place and trim to fit your visor, as needed. In the end, it will look similar to the painters tape you had initially posted. I'll take a pic and post later. Btw, since installing it, I have not removed it, as it does not hinder my vision, day or night.

Stig, another source for window tint is at your local hardware store.

Like some here my helmet comes with a flip down visor. When the sun is low enough to come straight on I change direction 90 degrees if I able for a while then change back to my original course.

I tried that 90 degree trick.
Ended up on Long Island with $3 in my pocket. Missed supper, too.

Another one here with a flip-down sun visor in my helmet (G-Max GM67). Now that I've had it, I wouldn't own another helmet without one. And I, too, have glasses to work around - took me a long time to find one that works well with my glasses.
