I just added an ADV Monster Model 40 auxiliary light.
My main goal was to have some light extra light for making it home on sunset trips where I may be an hour or so from home and an occasional recreational night ride.
I wanted a light I could quickly install and remove, thus I soldered and heat shrunk a 12v plug from Walmart (~ $3).
The bracket was a thick metal connector plate sold in the walmat hardware section (~$1.50). I cut the plate, enlarged 1 hole for the 8mm thread, filed it and painted it.
The mirror extensions are widely known ($17 a pair).
ADV Monster Model 40 Light ($40)
The light is nice and looks about 10x brighter than stock bulbs. Im using just 1 light. The fins in the back of the light screw on to a large male thread on the front of the lights rear holding the bracket on. I found the threads a little unsecure as only a few good threads held so I gorilla glued it on (probably permanently).
I will replace the 8mm nut holding the walmart bracket with a wingnut soon so I dont need a wrench to remove and install it.
Worked real nice last night and want to share it. Holds real firm and steady hardly and shaking.
ADV Customer service was excellent!!!
