Oil (again)
« on: May 13, 2015, 09:54:12 AM »

Hi Guys (and Girls),

I am currently using PENNZOIL 5w-40 synthetic which I have had in my garage for a few years.

In a yellow colored container

Q. You guys over the pond know of this? Any good?

Cheers.

I would say thats to lite for a scooter. I would not go below 10w myself, and I prefer Mobile 1 15/15 for all of my vehicles. Seems to cover all bases. I think the 5w oils are for some of the newer Honda little 4 banger cars?  :-*

I was recomended to use 20w50 buy almost any shop..i couldn handle that 20 so i had to go to 15 which is recomended on the manual for places it doesnt get below freezing temps. Its going to depend on the min temp you could get to choose the right weight in cold. Car oil in a scooter is perfectly fine.. In a wet clutch bike stay away!
I use motul 5100 15w50..

Sorry, that should say 15/50, not 15/15. I use mobile one 15/50 and I am close to 60,000 on my 2007 x500. Still runs like new.   :-*
