Help!
« on: May 15, 2015, 02:21:28 AM »
An exhaust nut sheared off and the rattling made the whole exhaust fall off. I'm about a mile from home.. Is it safe to ride home without the exhaust attached?

The exhaust is totally off. I'm holding it. I pulled over before I trashed it.

Just waiting for someone to give me the ok to ride home or to wait for someone to pick me up.

Not too expensive for the parts, if the pipe is OK?
But the wait might be a problem for the parts.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Exhaust is back on and I'm riding! :)

I went to my local scooter shop but they didn't have the right size gasket. They did give me regular nuts and washers that fit. I popped the old gasket off my stock exhaust and am using that for now.

Quick question. The old stock exhaust only used a metal ring gasket. The Tecnigas came with like a paper type gasket. That's what I lost. Was I supposed to use both on the new exhaust? The metal ring and the paper one together. Or one or the other? I originally only installed it with the paper one.. The manifold has a nice little recess for the metal ring.

Cool, good news. The ring type i like better, but are sorta one time use because they squish to seal. With the technigas i would use only the squish type. Just have one or two spares for when you take the pipe off. I have all the OEM stuff in stock.
