That's a good shout, I better give that a charge first. If it's not, what else would you suggest?
If the scooter sat around unused for a while, the sensor could just be stuck. You can remove it and use PB blaster to lube it, or go fishing for the float with a bent clothes hanger. Sometimes just shaking the scooter or going over a rough bump helps.
