The scooter gave me the bug

Well, it's been less than 6 months since I started riding the Like scooter, I'm already in the works to buy another bike, got a bid on a Honda Shadow 750 right now on ebay, we'll see how it goes, I knew that I'd get tired of 163cc pretty quick, don't get me wrong, it's a great scooter, and i'll probably keep it for commuting, but just want something more comfortable. I rode around this weekend for about an hour and my back, shoulders and neck were killing me on the scooter! Of course that's the longest ride I've taken on it!

I got the "bug" shortly after I bought my Like 200 LX, but I went out and bought a nice used 2006 People 250cc Kymco scooter. I subsequently bought two 250cc Kymco Grand Vistas. I really have no desire to buy a conventional bike as my 250cc Kymcos can easily do 75 mph and that's fast enough for me. I don't ride on major highways, so it's not a big deal.

If i had to get something juicer id get a people 250 thats the only scoot ill switch to. But here they are very few and really expensive those... imo not worth it

I paid $1K for my used 2006 People 250 that I found on CL. The bike had sat for a few years, so I had to clean the carb a few times, replace the tires, fuel pump and rear brake master cylinder. All together, I've probably got about $2K into it, but it's still about half the price of a new one. It's my daily driver, so I've racked up quite a few miles on it since I got it two years ago.

Yes, the People 250 probably would have been a better choice for me, looks a bit bigger, as I am 6'1". My bid is still number one, so keeping fingers crossed. Every now and then you can find a great deal on Ebay

Lost the auction, reserve wasn't met, probably too good of a deal to be true. Maybe that's a sign I should stick with the like. I'm just tired of riding around on that uncomfortable seat!

750 Shadow is a nice bike, good for 100k too if you take care of it. Sorry you lost it. Keep an eye out on craigs, lots of old timers and folks who decide after 100 mi that a bike isn't for them sell them at just the right price. Be patient grasshopper and you shall be rewarded.

Yes, I was actually looking at the Honda Shadow Phantom 750, I really like the matte black look of the bike. Looks kind of vintage too. I'm finding them for about $4,000 on ebay, but being patient to see if anything else comes along. I've already got the Like up for sale, asking $2,000, not sure if i'll get it though..
