Let me ask a serious question about these modular helmets.
In a wreck, won't all that extra "hardware" fly apart? Does it really offer the same or similar protection as a full face?
Good question.
Modular helmets are DOT approved....SNELL has not come through yet. Might not ever.
Here's my point....With glasses I must wear a modular helmet - or an open faced helmet.
I tried for 3 days to wear a full face/solid helmet. Impossible.
It's a no-brainer for me - open face offers
no protection for the face/jaw/teeth, etc. Modular helmets do.
I wear a modular because it is safer than anything less.
