Could anyone steer me to find just exactly what is the construction of FeelFree scoot tires?

Rubber, lots of rubber, and some metal in there too. Maybe some Kevlar, science is cool.

I finally broke down on my hands and knees and at least read the sidewall: Tread-3 plies polyester + INL, Sidewall-3 plies polyester. This suggests a braced tread. Not radial. Also no steel. OK, how 'bout compounds? Is the center of the tread a harder compound for wear? Edges softer for adhesion? I cannot seem to find anything on the web besides marketing platitudes. Shoulda done this BEFORE I bought 'em! Hey! They still handle better than the oem Maxxis!

Thanks, 2wheel, been there. Unfortunately it does not state which construction applies to the FeelFree. I conclude it is "bias belted." I want THEM to say that somewhere. Guess I better not hold my breath, huh?

Got a partial answer from Metzeler: radials in 120/70R-15 (front), 160/60R-14 and 160/60R-15 (rears) only. All the rest are bias ply. Re-asked the question about harder compound in center of tread. Will advise.

PS: Got the rest of the answer: the Feelfree is a single compund tire. Which means I will have to replace an expensive rear tire in another 8k miles.....

Since you brought it up....who does make a multi-compound tire? I would be looking for Front 150/70-15 Rear 150/70-14.

I am on my third set of Metzeler tires. I just like the way they roll and grip the road. I thought of getting Michelin's for about a minute. After the minute, I thought why should I get a different tire brand if I was very happy with my Metzelers.

Ruben, how many miles do you get on the rear Metzeler before you have to replace it? I, too, like the handling of the Metz!

I get about 8,000 miles on the each tire before replacing them. I use my Downtown for work. I ride about 200-300 miles a week.
