Noises

Ok 2 newer noises coming from my DT that I know you guys can help me with.

The first one is related to the front brakes. When applied I hear a kinda sandpaper sound coming from them. Is it pad related or disk related?

The second one is coming from the rear by the exhaust area. Only during acceleration do I hear what sounds like something is rubbing. A kinda light rub of metal maybe. If I let off on the gas it seems to go away or is so quite you don't hear it. Belt related maybe? or something else?

Front brake pads could be worn to the metal by that sound description. How many miles? Would have to be a bunch since some have nearly 20000miles and pads look thick like new. Low miles I would guess glaze. Take 'em out and scuff with sandpaper.

Rear noise may be glazed clutch shoes. That is done like glazed brake pads.

Which pads are you on?

I changed my factory pads with GOLDFREN AD at 3000kms, now at 18000kms, they are almost to the backing plate.  Which means I only managed to get 15000kms out of a pair of front pads.

Will be replacing the AD with S33 Goldfren pads. Hope the HH rating will improving the braking.

Only 4000 miles on them. The levers do pull back a little more but not bad. SO if it is pads on both ends what would be a good pad to replace them with then? I cna be a little heavy on the breaking so I certainly could be worn done al ready.

The scoot's pretty heavy so with a single sliding caliper at the front, a high fiction pad would certainly be favorable.

So, any branded pad with HH rating would be best IMHO.

Brands like Vesrah, Goldfren, EBC, DP should be safe bets.

So I want to do most of my own work on the scoot when posible. How hard is it to change the front pads? Do you need special tools or would what I have in the garage work? I do have the repair manual already.

It's relatively easy, just need the tools.

Also, a torque wrench would be best to torque back down all the bolts to factory specs.

Hey Guys.

I do not want to open a new topic just want to ask something about a weird noise that I have from today.
When I have a passenger with me during accelerations from 0kmh I hear a strange sound coming from cvt or engine I am not quite sure.
I think it is the CVT.
The sound is like a normal sound when accelerating but suddenly it goes deeper for a second or two and then back to normal.
Anyone have any idea what could this be?
I have 11500km belt was not changed or anything on the CVT.
