How do increase my uphill speed and overall acceleration in a Like 50 2t?

I'd like this to have minimal detrimental effects on the engines overall health and top end speed. I'd like to stick to a budget but would like quality parts such as a Malossi variator. I'd like this also to be fairly easy to perform on my own. I may be new but I've been reading a lot and I have done some work previously to another scooter, though a cheap, Chinese POC.
Still, I am fairly new to this so any help you can give would be awesome! Thanks!

Thanks for the response. Regarding the questions:

No mods, basically new, and just beginning break in maintenance after the previous owner didn't and want to add some get up and go to it. It was derestricted by the shop apparently.

What's its performance like right now? Give us a few speeds on flats and on hills that you are presently getting.

It takes some effort and time off the line. Not much acceleration but I think that's standard in a scooter this size but can, and hopefully will, be fixed. On flat ground 30-40. On a downhill it zips to 45 +. On the uphill however it slows from 35 to 15-20 quickly and stays that way till the top. This is pretty much regardless of whether I have a guest on it or not so I think that might help answer the pepsi case question.
