My new scoot!
« on: December 09, 2009, 04:31:44 PM »
Got it on November the 20th, and just started messing with it.

The trunk is a Givi 34 LT Vision Top Case and the windshield is a Givi 105A.  The carb is some weird YY50QT-F that seems to have some kind of auto fuel/air mixer.  I got it and put it on when I put on the free flow air filter, but I have no idea... ( red arrow )

It is here next to my TPGS-824 equivalent Chinese scoot that I have modded the heck out of and am in the process of fixing ( the coil got wonky, but I just replaced it ).  I put up night and day pics 'cause it is easier to see the windshield in the night one.

That carb is off a Yiying scooter, and the black plastic cap is there for emission purposes. The idle circuit is calibrated on a flow meter, and then sealed with the cap to prevent tampering. If you intend to mod the scooter that would not be my first choice for a replacement carb. as it is tuned specifically for the yy50qt (model of the Yiying scoot). Also check your spark plug to be sure that carb is not running too lean for your engine. Best of luck to you, and welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the reply.  I think it is a little lean, but then it acts like it is too rich...

I am gonna pull it off tomorrow and replace it with my other carb, which I will have to re-jet...

Sigh, I can afford a better carb, but I couldn't get it right away.  Is there one that is recommended?

I did order one of those D421 CDIs off of ebay, and I changed my rollers to DR Pulley 5.5s and my variator to an extended ramp one.

I am running a Delorto on a zx/50. It is a pretty complex carb to tune right although all the parts you will ever need are readily available. There is another fellow posting here (wordslinger) that also has an agility, and went through all the pit falls to tune his carb. I'm sure he will see this, and give you the info he found to work on his scoot. You can also use the search tab w/ keywords to see if you can find some of his carb/jetting posts. I've posted before you can use "pinn drils" or tourch tip cleaners to open your stock jets so as not to have to deal w/ finding-ordering-shipping a whole mess of different sizes. Your stock carb will be fine with just a little tuning. The only reason to use an aftermarket carb would be to install a larger cfm size if you went with a big bore kit, and custom exhaust. Wordslinger is reaching 47-51 mph w/ his stock carb. Using the cdi, and variator you ordered with a little jet work will get you there, and save 150. bucks to boot! Keep posting your results. Every post will help someone else.

I replaced that trash carb with a CVK with a 90 main, and I will try it out later today.  I was running way lean...

Sigh...

I now have the carb and 90 main with free flow filter, the variator with 5.5 rollers, and an iridium plug CR7HIX.

Waiting for the D421 and I don't think I will do much else except get a carb I really like.  I really hate the stupid auto enricher as I have had 3 go bad on me.

Regardless, I like the Agility way better than any other scoot I have had.  I particularly like the backrest!

I'm sure that set up will work MUCH better for you! The cdi will make a big difference also.
