Is the shop mentioned by name here, somewhere.
I never mentioned the name of my dealer during my troubles....but Kymco USA did say that  they wished I had not posted the youtube of my poor running LIKE200i.
They did not ask me to remove it....just wished I hadn't posted it.
I did remove that one....in fairness to them for getting onto my dealer to fix my scooter.
So, have only ever had two major issues with a vehicle....VW and a Kymco. Both times my problem was taken care of after a letter or an email.  New throttle body from Kymco, $850  check from VW after I had to pay a private shop to replace a recalled part.( due to dealer backlog, in the dead of winter to my only set of wheels ...heater core blew while wife and baby were driving on a 20° day)

I thought this post was furbar as well. But I guess not. I think the dealer is the main problem. My local Kymco would have had this fixed within a week or so (if the parts were available from Kymco) Fingers crossed about my GT300i. Never had any issues with it with the exception of a broken fork seal & a small seat issue.

Kymco really appears to have gone down hill in the last couple of years. Warranty issues & their pathetic current offerings. When I do look for a new scooter (won't be for sometime) I'll only look @ Suzuki, Yamaha or Honda.

I started in 2009 thereabouts with an Agility 50. Now I have a DT300i which akes me deleriously happy, warts and all. I have not had to rely on any dealer so far for warranty work. Probably just as well since I doubt any dealer knows enough to be of any value, unlike the people on this forum. This problem with carmen007's GTi300 could have been solved in less than 10 seconds with no parts. This knowledge is common here. I seriously doubt that any US dealer knows this. The problem is: 1. Sales has no product knowledge,  2. Service thinks they know everything (like general aviation mechs fresh out of school) , 3. Warranty means parts and 4. Dealers seem to be afraid to call Kymco USA for help. We will not change the dealers BUT WE CAN KEEP THEM IN LINE WHEN WE KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM like carmen and Stig. The answer is to get Kymco USA involved early. EARLY!

This is a nightmare.
Kymco and the dealer should share equal blame. Also, the dealers name and place of business should be made public.
As consumers we have a right to know.

Boo. Amen to your post! We should ALL know what dealer did the work (or lack of) on the GT300i. Love my scooter, but won't give Kymco the business again unless they get their act together.

Well after having the bike back for a week I noticed that the steering column does not Iock any more.  Is this a easy fix. Did not see any thing in the manuals about this. I have not mentioned the
dealer and have given them plenty of opportunity to make things right.  My biggest complaint was while in the shop for over 6 months. Not one phone call for dealer to let me know a status. My friend had his car in the shop for 2 weeks he got 4 phone calls just to keep him updated.  Is it that difficult to pick up a phone and in 20 sec let me know steps that were being taken.

There are not that many Kymco dealers in the Denver area.  The main two appear to be COLORADO POWERSPORTS and SPORTIQUE SCOOTERS.

Ok I'll be the ass. I'm still from Missouri on this one.
Names of nobody including the dealer.

IMO without "outing" the offending dealer the story seems a little off.
Just me.

Jeff Carlson at Kymco USA that he did in fact "close the loop" between customer and dealer at Colorado Powersports in Denver. There, that should remove all SPECULATION about this case.

Thank you.
When a dealer has the audacity to quote more than list price for a repair on a new scooter they should not be protected by the manufacturer or the nameless faceless Internet.

When a dealer is ripping off the general public they need to be outed period! The dealer has made the conscious choice to be a disreputable business owner, therefore, they are the ones excepting the consequences. If they don't like the reputation they have made for themselves they should stop being a bunch of thieves. It's that simple.
I am very glad you disclosed the name of this dealer and the person at Kymco USA. We should have each other's back and help each other in situations like this. If we don't, with dealers like this, who will?

I hope things work out with your GT. I love mine and it would be a shame if you don't get to enjoy yours. Ride safe, mscmkr.

Is there a lemon law or consumer protection agency in your state? I would contact them and have Kymco give you a new scooter.
