WHICH IS FASTER (50 CC NON-RESTRICT OR 125/150 CC STOCK)

I WAS JUST WONDERING IF YOU DE-RESTRICT A 50CC (BOSS DRIVE/REV ONLY) WILL IT BE FASTER OR SLOWER THEN A 125CC SCOOTER------HUMMMM

Quicker to "launch" but 10mph or so less at the top. Mine will outrun any stock 150 scoot!

I some EU countries 125cc are limited to 80kph for under 18 years. In this case a strong 50cc may be faster downhill squeezing out (and risking!) it's engine.
But usually 125cc are unrestricted too and can utilize their <=11kW/15hp. Top speed then about 110kph.

I own a small 125cc with "only" 7.5kW/10.2hp. It looks small and from the front and side like a 50cc, some people like to race me. But it outperfoms every 50cc scoot I have ever met. Once they see my tail with the big number plate, they give up. 150% _more_ displacement (unrestricted anyway) is nothing to take lightly, even if it's "only" 4-stroke.
In switzerland the 50cc may legally run unrestricted if the driver has license class A1. The strongest 50cc has 4.2kW and a top speed of 78kph. Compare this to 11kW and 110kph.

We have an 125cc class with >11kW too, for driving license class A. 4-stroke may reach 20hp (Peugeot Satelis K20), 2-stroke 23hp (Aprilia RS 125).
Who thinks, an unrestricted 50cc can compete with an unrestricted (but stock!) 125cc of 20hp and more? Who's unrestricted 50cc runs true 120-130kph or even more? "Speedometer tuning" doesn't count!

My xz/50 Super fever! Now I couldn't touch a modified 125-150. But any stock 125-150 is lunch meat for me. Your right about the K-20! That is one mean little machine.

Some 125's will get 50-60, and 150 will get 55-65. Yeah believe it or not a 125 is legal on ALL U.S. roads because it requires a motorcycle endorsement. Although I would NEVER get on an Interstate with anything less than 400cc's. You have to think about AVAILABLE HP. if you are topped out at 60mph; How do you avoid trouble? I live on HWY 98 (the redneck Rivera) and I try to stay off of it because of people doing 70mph in a 55 zone. Ps. The best my ZX has done is 65mph, and not on MY clock. Right now I can run 55mph all day. (about 5/6 throttle) still have more but can't hold it at full. It will drop off.

Stock 125cc 11kW can have official 120kph = 75mph. Typical for scooter is "only" 110kph = 69mph.
But the fastest stock 125cc makes 135kph = 84mph (17kW, but street legal with Euro3 emission class).

The fastest 50cc I have ever seen with own eyes was clocked with 210.634kph = 131mph (1965 FIA world record on Bonneville flats). Of course this was not an usual 50cc.

Holy Cra#, I had to use the conversion program to understand your post. I don't want to get into a bidding war! All I can say is my Super Fever is faster than Al Deimeiola! John Wayne"s horse has NOTHING on this!!! I do believe I have the best margin of speed/ reliability I can get out of a 50cc scoot. (70cc) And just to finish; I have three letters on my brake light...   F.T.P.  Ps. I do want to build a Super 9. 131mph for a 50cc base sounds do-able. Of course it is a throw away! 70mph all-day.

Ok, the power and speed mentioned in the last posts are official numbers from our laws and authorities, no "bidding war".

Does you scoot have a 70cc racing cylinder? Then I wouldn't call him an "non-restricted 50cc". Over here it would be - just illegal.

If you have 3 kW 50 cc scooter and 7 kW 125 cc scooter, regardless of restrictions and transmission tweaking, at the end, you will have just that, 3 kW vs. 7 kW.

I couldn't swear to it but I am pretty sure I am near 13 HP. For obark, even at full throttle I don't get full rpms. There is a point where torque falls of, and you just can't get anymore out of it. Maybe on a long downhill run?

The title says 50cc non-restrict vs. 125/150cc stock. Now it's completely modified vs. de-restricted?

A comparison "modified without rules" vs. "strictly street legal" is quite difficult if you want to arrive at conclusions. Better to change as few parameters as possible.

We had in Croatia a lot of 125 cc/25 kW (34 KS), but not scooters. For example, Cagiva Mito (http://www.motori.hr/CAGIVA_MITO_125_190.html) , Honda HSR, some Aprilias... it would be interesting to drive 125 cc/2stroke 34 hp scooter though.

We had them too. But not with Euro3 compliance. The new Mito 125 has: 9kW.
