Question regarding a Cam chain Tensioner
« on: August 26, 2015, 03:28:56 PM »
Hello,

I received a Genuine kymco cam chain tensioner, and i wanted to ask if it's supposed to have
a rubber cap where i marked in the picture.

Sym tensioners look almost the same, but they also have a rubber cap like here:

Thank you.

Some do some don't, it won't matter as long as you assemble the top cap WITH THE O RING!!!!!!!! Where the Philips screw covers the adjuster, make SURE you remove the o-ring from your old one and install it in the new one, otherwise it will leak a little oil.

Hi,  thank you for the answer.
Yes, i know about the o-ring under the big philips screw.

I actually have a SYM scooter, and i wonder if the Kymco tensioner will work in that engine.
The SYM tensioner and the Kymco tensioner look almost the same, only 1 difference, like i marked in the picture:

What do you think?

They will 100% interchange. The rubber plug does not matter. The tenssioner will interchange with 99% of scooters out there.
