Or get the whole shootin'-match for spares for a bit more. That hex head is kinda soft - and gets chewed up if you tighten too much. Plenty of replacements available for this.

I would love to design an adapter that changes the cave man screen to a real oil filter canister. I didn't think the screen is ideal.

They stole this idea from VW. Bazillion Beetles running around with a screen filtering the squirrel parts getting sucked into the oil. Valves adjusted the same way.
Never a problem......
I should have purchased 4 Beetles and put them in a barn.
Best car ever made.....the new smell was amazing. Best car to bring a new baby home from the hospital in a Mass. snow storm!
