agility city 50 de restricted but still 35 top end
« on: September 06, 2015, 03:33:25 PM »
Hi guys I'd really appreciate some input to my problem if you can.
I have derestricted my agility city 50 4t by changing the cdi, boss, and put an 86 jet in. With all that I only get 30 or 35 MPH down a slight incline. I have also popped the rollers out and cleaned the variator and the rollers have a couple of flat spots on each but no brass showing. Y I have some mech knowledge but I really am stumped at this point. Thank if you can steer me in the right direction!!!

Why did you change the jet? Did it run lean with the new CDI? Do a plug chop and let us know.

Honest, 35mph is pretty good for a Kymco 50cc 4T.  They do about 27mph out of the box. You could spend a ton of money and not get much more than that.

No - makes no difference.  But if you spend a ton of money and time (50mm piston, gears, cam, 4-valve head, ignition, exhaust, variator - AND the 70cc carb)  you could probably get 50mph out of it, but you pay a price.  It'll have a short-life and you'll be missing the money you spent!  (Unless you're like me and don't mind spending money and blowing up engines)
