In case you get the shakes....
« on: September 09, 2015, 12:58:43 AM »

Full track-day race mode isn't my style...but these new Sliders Kevlar Jeans fit and feel good enough that I'll probably wear them on every w/e ride. Tried them out on 4 sun rise rides this w/e.
The boot cut fits much better than the orig's did....although they still will need about 2">3" cut off the length.
I bought the CE rated knee pads and the new jeans come with a bit of removeable hip padding....none of which is uncomfortable enough to leave home in the drawer.
Best stuff in the world is no good if you won't wear it.

I'd like to see a pair of chaps for protection. Something to slip/tie over your jeans. Knee protection, butt etc. I haven't located anything yet. Going somewhere and changing pants is a PIA.

I got a pair of the sliders cargo pants a few months ago.  I probably got them a size too big but they will work good in colder weather with long johns underneath.  I've been thinking of getting the Sliders jeans.  I have some old Draggin Jeans but they are wearing out and don't have pockets for armor.  Jeans with their pockets are just so much more convenient than other riding pants.

Stig, how did the size work out for you.  Did they run true to size or did you get a size larger than what you normally wear?

Everyone buys 'em too big.
Learned my lesson with the first pair. Neighbor kids borrow them for tenting.
Made by Abdul the Tent Maker, I suspect.
2nd pair went a 2 sizes smaller than I wear - and washed them in hot water X2. Much better, still crazy long but I have shears.

Forget the shears. A little duct tape and you'll have nice crisp sharp cuffs.
