hey,  are you in the US?  What state?  I am curious about the laws on this too.  I'm sure there is no good way to enforce them though.

The LC models will get to 65mph by installing an 72cc big bore kit, performance pipe, bigger carb, new variator, Arreche air filter and few other bits and bobs, but your AC model will be a bit slower.

Simply de-restricting your scoot will get you about 46mph, true speed, although the meter will indicate a higher speed because it's out by about 10%.

Hi guys,

I thought I would put a little list together on de-restricting the stock Super 9 to it's full potential.

 Change the drive boss for one without the shoulder on it.

 Change the CDI.  You can either re-wire the stock harness and use the old-style CDI, or you can go the much easier and less expensive route and use a performance GY6 CDI: http://www.partsforscooters.com/169-27-Performance-CDI Special thanks to Chaz from the Kymcoforum for the link to the GY6 CDI.  Before I knew about this, I was re-wiring and using the old style CDI from the LC Super 9.

 Exhaust can be changed for older style exhaust, or performance exhaust (Tecnigas, Leovince, or Turbokit).  Tecnigas preferred over the other two.  You can also cut the expansion tubes off of the old exhaust and weld back over the holes, but it's an awful lot of work.  Most people prefer to simply exchange the exhaust for another.

 The carburetor must be re-jetted.  Minimum of jet size 83 with the stock air box.  I recommend doing plug chops to verify that the jetting is correct.  Do not skip jetting... the engine will run lean otherwise.  You may find that a richer jet will be required (I've heard of people using low 90's with the stock airbox, depending on setup).  I had a link showing the process of drilling jets, but can't find it.  I'll add it later.

That should get your air-cooled Super 9 running good!  From here, if you want more speed you'll have to look into some aftermarket parts.  I prefer Moped Hospital for all things Kymco performance.  The Airsal cylinder, RS-II exhaust, and an aftermarket carburetor.  You can use either the Dellorto 19 or the Arreche.  If you want to go a little bit of a different route you can get the 28mm manifold with a Keihin (or less expensive copy, OKO, Koso, etc) 24-28mm.

Just wanted to get that posted up.  I have a long list of things to do for the website this weekend.

This is the link I was trying to find. I have pictures of the restricted and un-restricted exhaust that I'll have to post up.
