Discontinued in US?
« on: November 05, 2015, 12:00:57 AM »
Just checked the US web site and they show no MyRoad 700i for 2016 apparently.

Really ?!
Already?
Does seem like they were having trouble giving them away @$5?K. One could buy a lot of different new motorcycles for the price of this big scooter. (then again, same could be said of the Burgmans.... I do not visit that thought too often.:-))

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Somehow I'm not surprised as I thought they were asking a bit much to jump in on comparable pricing with BMW (sister bike and Suzuki. My last '09 Burgman 650 I bought new OTD for $7,500. I think most dealers didn't carry them because its so much more expensive than Kymco's other offerings. Had the at least offered 1.9% interest for 60 months might have be a better seller.

The 700 shows as current model on their showroom pages. At least as of 3:37pm, 11/5/15 and is still in their on-road brochure.    Here's a link:  http://kymcousa.com/showroom/index_onroad.html

It's not listed under the Current Models tab, clicking on the Non-current Models tab then you can see it.

Guess you are getting a different page loading than what I get.  The link I posted takes me right to the current models which has the 700 as well as the "New" 50th anniversary version of the "Like 200i".

Clicking on the link doesn't show me that and is the same in IE, Chrome, Mozilla. If I click on the Non-current Models tab it shows me the 50th Anniversary version of the Like 200i. By all sources the 50th Anniversary is a 2015 model (which is weird because according to Wikipedia Kymco was founded in 1963) not a 2016 model. Click on the Current Models tab on that screen, scroll to the bottom, and you will see there is no 700i shown. They show a 2016 Xciting 500 Ri ABS as their top model currently.

MJR - I figured out that my computer using Microsoft Edge was "caching"  older pages showing the 700 and other models as current.  I looked at the kymocusa.com website on my phone last night and immediately saw what you were talking about.   A restart of my desktop computer corrected the caching.

Sorry about me trying to correct your statement about the 700 being discontinued.  You were stating exactly what the website is now showing.

After that last time that's what I was thinking it was displaying and old page. Nah no big deal. :) Maybe Kymco has enough stock in '14-15 models they won't do a 2016 here and bring it again in '17-18. Honestly I'm tempted to pick one of these up. I've seen a few new ones below $6K but too bad they are on the other side of the US from me.

They did that with the xciting 500. It vanished from their site for quite a while. I thought they had dropped it to bring in the 400. But now it's back for 2016? Maybe to much over stock of 2013/14's?  :-*

Simply put, they're not selling in enough #s to justify cost of importing them. You can buy them under 6k all day long.

I just saw that they are now selling the Xciting 500 again for 2016. From what I've read, the 500 is more comfortable anyway. The one complaint about the MyRoad was that the seat made a person of average (5'8"-5'11") height sit too far forward and was uncomfortable for long rides. A cycle in that price rage should not have that problem.

EX-ACT-LY. Who wants it if you can't ride it. Shame, it's a nice bike. Low to mid 50's MPG on HWY, good power etc. They screwed the pooch on this one. Wish they would bring in 400.  :-* I love my xciting 500, but I wish they could get more MPG out of it, and put in a bigger gas tank. No range at all. Often I read where people who have Suzuki and yamaha 400 scooters often get 60 plus MPG while touring? Sad. :-*

Do the ones made after 2012 or so get better fuel economy ? Just curious. Perhaps I'll get one to replace my 2009 Xciting 250 in a few years. As of now, I'm getting around 60 mpg with mostly 60-70 mph riding.

I don't know? I have an 07 carb model. I have asked before, but everyone seems to mostly commute or scoot around town. Does anyone know what the MPG is at a steady 65 or so?  :-*
