Good read. After all his upgrades the Vespa rider spent only about $1,100 less than the price of the Kymco Myroad 700i. Aside from the tight turns the Myroad seemed the better choice for the trip, but that’s what it was built for.

Thanks,  bluesin, saw that and had no idea what it meant.  Was not surprised at all the things that were short on the Vespa. Rode one demo from Sloan Cycles, Murfreesboro, TN and was NOT impressed with either power or brakes. Of course, this is in comparison to the DT300i.

Interesting article.  RoadRunner Magazine has always seemed to show more interest in scooters than most of the other motorcycle magazines.  I remember them doing scooter articles years ago including one involving a kymco Grand Vista 250.
