A Windy Ride
« on: December 05, 2015, 08:05:15 PM »
Today was extremely windy here in the UK. Gusts were 60 to 70 mph. I had a ride over to see my daughter in her new apartment some 12 miles from me. The Downtown felt very assured in the wind and it wasn't really a problem. Perhaps the combination of my 105lb and the scooters 350lb made an immovable force. Feeling for the North West of the UK who have been battered by Storm Desmond. They have had torrential rain with rivers bursting their banks causing widespread flooding. As we don't have Hurricanes the Meteorological Office have this year started giving storms a name. Last week it was Clodagh and now we have Desmond. I'm sure Eric or Edmund will be along soon

WOW, I get really nervous and have to lean in 20MPH winds on my Xciting500. Can't imagine 60-70mph.

Nice looking scoot! For what it's worth, we had pretty stiff winds here today, but nothing close to the 60 mph you had. Windy or not, the roads were dry and I wasn't missing an opportunity to ride! Great way to spend the afternoon.
