Why does kymco uses ac and dc on there scoots. woulden be more simple to just run ac threw the whole bike.
like most of the gy6 scoots...............

Well since its come to light that some models are built out of Taiwan maybe that is the reason?

Stator creates ac voltage then the rectifier converts it to dc voltage to run all the lights and bells n whistles. Alts on cars same thing, mc's too. All electronic circuitry uses a small transformer to convert ac to dc volts. Every appliance in your house same thing. Computers, tvs etc...DC voltage is more efficient in electronics use. AC voltage is more efficient to transport over long distances to your home and to create. That's one reason alts replaced dc generators on old cars.

Cars do the same thing. All cars have an alternator (a/c). But the battery and all components are d/c. An alternator is more efficient. You can get more capacity in a smaller package. That's why cars made the switch in the early 1960s. On a small engine, efficiency is even more important.

sorry, but transformers to not convert AC to DC, that is what rectifiers do, transformers reduce the voltage, the small transformer package on electronics also contain a rectifier

Rectifier coverts ac to dc, it rectifies capiche? Transformers step up v or step down voltages.
