J Costa Variator
« on: January 22, 2016, 06:27:51 PM »
Has anyone tried the J Costa variator on their DT300? Just curious to see if anyone has tried an aftermarket variator opposed to 14g Dr Pulley sliders.

Thanks

ya , i am using it and it is good for those who like swift acceleration, the lower speed rpm is a bit higher , but for cruising on highways ,the rpm is a bit lower , fuel economy is ok ,also i am also using it combined with a Hit clutch from Dr Pulley , this combination gives a very sporty feel to the bike. Hope that helps  ;)

The j Costa, the new revised version, is getting rave reviews from what I have seen on the Internet .
I chose Malossi because it uses rollers and they are easier to get hold of here in  South Africa.
At the time that was my thinking.
Now, I realize, I could have used an engineering company to make me J Costa bullets out of some hard Teflon or similar.
I would definitely have gone that route if I had the j Costa.
Anyways, it is all to do with cost vs benefit vs availability.
