fuel octane rating for 450i

   Header says it all, just wondering what octane rating the 450i requires. Searched all the owners manual and online but no specs. I have been using 92 min (premiem) as all my other ATV require that. Just wondered if other owners know what is recommended. In automobiles the gov't requires them to use regular unless a performance model. Thanks

Thanks, I have read my owners manual over and over and no octane rating....can't believe they would miss something like that.  I will probably run mid grade now just to be safe, as I do in other toys except the ATV's that require 92 octane.

Check inside met-in box. Should be a sticker telling octane requirement and a bunch of other stuff.

OK I am an old fart, so what is the "met-in box".  That term is greek to me...but so is a lot of other stuff well past my time. LOL  Thanks

  Met in box ,  that is the box under the seat on a scooter, your info could be on the rear fender , like my tractor,  just look all over the body of your 4 wheeler<

Well I have the UTV  so I searched all over, all the decals I could find that even mentioned fuel had writing so small it would take the hubble telescope to read it. However by continuing my search I did come across some specs that defined their fuel recommendations to 87 min octane (regular fuel) in all the machines. Just curious if the gov't mandate to require reg fuel in motor vehicles had anything to do with it?? Only performance vehicles can be required to use higher octane fuels nowadays according to our dear gov't standards. I do see just a couple years back that most offroad machines did req 92 octane.  Thanks for your reply and information!!

That made me laugh this morning! Thanks, I needed that after the 12 hrs. I had last night. Kind of like medicine bottles, think they could print it any smaller??

Just brought home a Turf model 500i UXV so will see if anything pops up about what fuel to use. I GOT THIS THING JUST TO SETTLE THIS QUESTION ON THIS THREAD. Just to show you guys what lengths I will go to get the straight info! So there!

That's what we like to see....someone that will go to any length to get to the right answer!!  Actually is was a 500i that gave me the info I was looking for, after finding the fuel info on the 500 it allowed me to backtrack into the other models thus finding my 450i.
