I figured they would at least let us see it run!

I can just imagine something getting caught in there.  Shoelaces?  Pants leg?  Scary thought.

Open cvt is all for show. I have thought about it myself, but I ride every day, and I think the draw backs out weigh the flash. What kind of scoot do you have? Malossi usa on line is the site I get all my custom stuff from. They have excellent prices, and ship like lightning.

There is a fella here (wordslinger) that uses Leo Vince 4.5 gram rollers, Red Malossi clutch fly springs, and I believe the white Malossi torque spring. 50 mph top, and good take off. I am sure he will see your post, and give you all the info he has learned. You can also search his posts to read the whole process. That is a good scoot w/ the right mods. Just do yourself a favor, and don't try to "cheap out" on the parts. Buy the good stuff!

Awesome! Too many people get sucked into the Ebay Chinese crap. You will have a very reliable, well tuned scoot if you take your time, and use the stuff that has been proven to work. Have you de-restricted your cdi yet? that is the biggest bang for the buck you can get! (free)

I got ya. You should ask your dealer how they approach that mod. Many of them will condone the switch.

That I do not know. You can email wordslinger, and I am sure he will confirm the size for you. Look under members, and his email is listed. Or a phone call to your dealer may be faster. slinger mainly uses the computer at work (he has teen age kids)

I would highly recomend Not installing one of those open covers.  Although they look cool for show, if you do not have a show scoot, don't waist your money.  I have installed a similar thing on several Harely's, called "Open Primary Cover" and all the customers were less then pleased a year later as all the road dirt gets sucked right in there, thus creating another maintance issue.  Good luck
