Hi,
Wondered if anyone else encountered this issue - most of the times I have a really hard time getting the seat to lock - i only have one helmet but it seems the mechanism is problematic.
I had the same issue when I had a garnd dink - i remember then I installed a bigger loop on the seat inorder to get the seat locked easier but for some reason can't find suck "longer" seat hooks.
if anyone had a n idea or has this problem would be nice to know how you deal with it

Hi guys, my seat was also quite difficult to close, so i did a little tuning..removed oroginal spur and replaced it with spring from rat trap :D effect ? Seat opens 90 degrees and holds itseld..then its also easier to close and lock it because the spring doesnt resist so much..

You need to increase the tension in the seat cables. First remove the seat bucket (do the gas strut then the 6 bolts) and on the left are two hexagonal adjusters. Loosen the small locknuts and use two spanners to turn them anticlockwise relatve to each other. This will cause the two cylinders to move apart and therefore increase the cable tension. Also lubricate the brass latching mechanisms.

my problem is not with the seat's tension upwards but with the 2 locking mechanisms in the back... they're pretty wrecked...

use a nail or a screw driver to lock the seat locks one at a time and balance the cables to open at the same time , what happens they are not balanced , one side locks and the other side stays open or it will not close at all,  on my seat one side was locked all the time, and it jammed the other side and would not open , I had to open from the under the front cover at the ignition switch,
