"no good deed goes unpunished" Go to ebay . Click on ebay motors . Then type in "kymco cdi" . Good luck .

This is just my unqualified opinion . I think that before a person without special knowledge or skills alters or derestricts a factory cdi they should ask themselves some questions . Has your motor been altered to withstand higher than normal rpm's ? Do you know what the redline on your motor is ? Have you installed a tachometer ? Would you know if you were approaching the redline ? If the answer to any of these questions is no then you are risking catistrophic damage to your motor . Just my two cents .

im no tech but ive turned a few screws on scooters before. i've just never had a kymco. i've had 2 of the 150s (gy6 maybe?) and i've had 3 or 4 of the 50cc versions of that engine. i've repaired those a few times. they just don't seem to last to long. i sent you a message on ebay about the cdi and never heard anything back. and do you sell a tachometers? i wasn't planning on running it waide open all day. and i'm thinking something has been done to it it does 40 now just no more. i'm thinking some parts on it have already been upgraded. it gets to 40mph really fast then just lets up.

I don't sell anything , and I am not on ebay . I was just trying to point you in the direction you seem to be intent upon . I have said enough on this incident , perhaps too much . Good luck .

There are only 2 other sources for the CORRECT cdi that I know of. One is   Jiangwayne.com, and the other is Scooter assassins .com  Both are 3 times the price of going direct to the factory. I wouldn't worry about blowing the engine. there is not enough torque to push it into over-revving. The limiter is there for speed restriction, not engine protection. Moped hospital also has them but is even more expensive than the others. My best advice is still to get on the phone w/ Suitai. They designed the thing!

my cdi got here today and WOW! I can hit 44 on flat road. just in case someone has the same problem as i the cobra racing cdi is the unrestricted one for the people 50. i ordered it off ebay $54 shipped. it made a HUGE difference. i think i'm gonna try the clutch, weights, jets and spark plug next. any idea which of these would help the most?
