Slinger- I was thinking about putting my center stand back on today and it got me thinking about this thread.  Is that adapter you made steel or aluminum?  Looks like aluminum, but I was thinking about strength vs. machinability.  Also, I noticed the block of wood under your center stand, what's that about?  I thought you had welded some extensions on?

..i machined the lifter from 1" square coldroll steel..took about 3 hours in all...

...that's a block of brass under my stand, and that pic was taken before i made them..

..my extensions are just one inch long pieces of 1" square thinwall (1/8"), cold-roll steel tubing, that i welded to each of the stand's feet...

..welded them with the open ends up and down when the stand is in the retracted position..so any dirt will tend to just fall out..

..haven't had time to paint them yet, or i'd take a pic....lol..

That just reminded me. . . I have to paint mine before I put it back on! ;D  I think I may tackle this lifter fabrication some time in the future.  I was thinking about making it out of aluminum though, it would be much easier and save my tools!  I'm still trying to source some 7000 series aluminum plate for another project, so I may just get some square stock while I'm at it.  For that matter, anyone know where I can easily get some 7000 series aluminum sheet?  I need a minimum of 9" X 9" X 3/16".

I threw it out after putting the 130 on the rear. It didn't hit the ground.
