Slinger, what sort of price in comparison to the other options, and how many km have you done on them so far? Wear is a fair importance to me due to my mileage travelled. I have just clicked over 5000km since november.

..topaz..i have 8,000 km on my front....viper...no wear to be shown to speak of...i just replaced my Kenda rear a cpl-3 weeks ago...

..my scoot came with cheng shin tires...for me, they suck...plainly...

..there is a marked increase in handling capabilities with the Avons....

..i've said it before in previous posts...and i hate to soundlike i'm harping...

..but these tires kick ass!!!!  ;D

..39 bucks "on sale" u.s. at the website i ordered th rear from...

...i'd probly give 50 bucks a-piece for these tires if i had no other alternative...

..ask shaka and zombie...they gott'm on their scoots too...

I love em!  The handling is much improved, even in the snow! ;D  I have only put maybe 1000kms on mine. I got mine from motorcyclesuperstore.com with free shipping.  I think I paid about $70 for both of mine.  I had to add in some 2 stroke oil to make the $75 cut-off for the free shipping.

Forgot to say I fitted a Pirelli GTS 24. It looks bigger than the factory tyre and has a really tough pattern with good deep channels. It cost me $49 plus $15 fitting and balance, and is amazing for grip. I reckon it wont do a heap of miles as it seems too soft, but must admit its brilliant. Only problem is I am now pushing it harder into corners and laying it over more, that I will probably come off bacause of trying harder.... Cant help but give them a huge tick of approval.

What about Metzeler Feelfree?

I looked at the Pirelli's myself, and as topaz stated they are pretty soft. I imagine they would out perform the Avon (slightly) but the service life is (slightly) less.

I have done a bit of really wet riding lately, and the pirelli has been spectacular. I rang the shop and told them to get me a good tyre. I didnt ask by name or price, just good grip. Cost $49 plus fitting and I dont reckon you can go wrong at that price. Let us know what you decide and how they perform. To tell the truth the front has a heap of tread left (factory) and I have asked the shop to order me a matching front, to match the rear thats how impressed I am with it.

Wow, I had to pay $75 for a Continental without fitting. The joys of living out in the sticks.

G'Day Holty, I'm in Whyalla S.A. Just had the schnapper fishing comp. here this weekend, plenty of Victorians in town for it.
