To be honest, pretty much all tires I have ever had on any of the scoots in the past 11 years since I've been on 2 wheels performed reasonably well in dry conditions. This includes tyres that people strongly dislike here, like Kendas and other OEMs for Kymco.
It is nearly impossible to use the tire to the limit in normal street use, especially while commuting to work and back... also, I would not advise to anybody to test the scoots to the limit as they usually have unbalanced weight distribution, very unsophisticated suspension that cannot be adjusted and they are not exactly suited to extreme sports style of driving that will sooner or later lead to very bad consequences. (even though I used to have a lot of fun driving scoots, especially 50-72 cc 2 strokes
)
I have never had tyres long enough to have problems because the tyre is worn out. I usually replace them when they are halfway thread-wise. I think they are cheap enough (and they are only two per scoot!) not to go rubber side up because of worn tires.
Also, I have never experienced performance degradation in rainy conditions because of the reason stated above.
The only exception are OEM tires I had on my Kymco Cobra Cross 50 in 2001 or so. I really cannot explain this - they looked brand new, plenty of thread, but you could not stop the scoot on a straight line at speed of 20-30 km/h when it was wet. If you barely touched the brakes, the wheel would lock. As I said, I have never before or after had worse tires than that (maybe on my Fićo, production Year 1979, Tigar tires). I wonder how people did not get killed all over the world.
Also, OEMs on Agility had a funny mushroom-shape so the scoot would not lean over in bends.
Shape change from oval/round to flat is the main reason why I change tires so often. Most of the time I drive in a straight line at 70-90 km/h so I do not wear the tires in curves, that causes the tire to go flat (especially rear, but also the front one too) after 10-12.000 kms when I replace the tires.
Also, I do not spend a lot of time studying tires. Check a review or two, check the prices and buy them. Do not fret over little things, I'd say...
