Changing spark plug in Kymco S200
« on: February 28, 2010, 03:19:01 PM »
Dear forum users,

I found a detailed description on how to change the spark plug in S200.

http://scooterfan.wordpress.com/2008/08/27/s200-maintenance-spark-plug/

I fiured out almost everything. However, after removing the nuts and screws of the real splash shield I
could not undo the tabs securing the splash shield to the body panel. Please, if possible, explain how
to do it. I tried to move the parts back and forth, pull, push … it did not help.

Thank you in advance
Adam

Many of the plastics interlock, meaning a hoop on one panel, and a hook on the other. Straight pulling will not release them. you have to angle the parts slightly. even if you break a tab or two it will not be the end of your panels. I think you may just be babying it a little too much. take a close look inside the plastic as some areas have phillips head screws to re-inforce the joint. sometimes moving a harness will reveal a screw.
