It's obvious your dealer is not getting it. Perhaps you can take it to another recommended mechanic. I still feel the trouble is in the key switch or the associated wiring, and interlocks. A GOOD mechanic should be able to nail it down in a few hours. I understand your disappointment, and feel I have to point out the real problem appears to be the dealer, and not the scoot. Once this simple problem is sorted out I'm sure you will enjoy the scoot for many years to come.

I know the frustration you are feeling.  My wife's new 2009 People 150 (bought in April 2010) would start and run great but would just stall while cruising.  The bike would then start right back up again, then stall 1 to 10 miles later.  The dealer replaced many electrical parts in the ignition system without success and said my wife would get a replacement if the problem was not fixed.  More time went by with the scoot in the shop and I felt I was getting f---cked, so after going postal in the dealership, the scoot was replaced.  The last straw was when the Kymco factory rep want the tech to start checking harness connections and possibly reharness/wire the machine.   Current People runs great and I am lusting to get a Kymco 250.

I have called and left a message with Kymco.  I will hopefully get some response before I die of old age.
 As for now, I  will return the scooter to the dealer, and let him stare at it in amazement til he dies of old age!

Update:

   Scooter had to be pushed home from work last night, completely PO'd the husband.
   Called SC Kymco USA, received a return call from Chip -   this model was recalled in 2007 for the same issue I have been having!
My dealer dropped the ball big time!
   Chip stated that the *marker lights* draw power from battery while the machine is running, hence dead battery .
   Scooter will need  battery, stator, regular and dummy lights and should be good to go.    All will be replaced free, warrantee has run out, but the ongoing issues should have been dealt with by the dealer and he failed to heed the recall that Kymco sent.
