Does the tire have a tube in it?
« on: March 15, 2010, 01:33:45 PM »
Is the tire tubeless or does it have a tube?  I have a slow leak in my tire due to a nail.  I was wondering if the is tubeless can i plug it I believe it has a tube in it.

Should be tubeless.  You can plug it though.  Just be careful not to use too large a plug or you could throw it out of balance.

Howd the plug hold up?  Like I said I havent taken the nail out of the tire because its such a slow leak but if the plug held up well I will pull it out and plug it!

I put a plug in the rear tyre of my zx50,120/70/12. One year on the tyre is nearly bald, plug is still holding.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

I have two plugs in rear tire.
Remove that sucker and put the plug in. The nail will sooner or later puncture all the way and you will have a flat tire when you least want it.

..i had plugged my previous rear tire twice...

..when I had it changed, a 3 inch long nail (minus the head) was in the old tire...
