...what are handlebar weights for??
On a number of motorcycles, depending on the suspension and steering setup and angles, when you install rear top case, the shimmy action of steering/front wheel increases if you have stock handlebar weights. Most serious top case manufacturers provide heavier weights to be mounted instead of stock ones. For example, I had original Beverly topcase and it came with heavier weights, so did Givi on Kawasaki ZR-7S,
Handlebar weights also lower vibrations transmitted from the engine onto steering wheel, especially in case of thumpers and 2-cyl bikes, thus making the ride considerably more comfortable.
However, Agility is not affected by this, especially not with 25l cases, and does not have stock weights either.
