Is there easy way 2 adj shocks?
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:44:39 AM »
Well, guys, my lady friend is coming to visit and I've talked her into a scooter ride.  I want to adjust my shocks for two up riding.  I didn't get a tool kit with the 500.  Is there some cheap tool I can buy to do it?  Or do I need a Kymco tool?  There sure isn't much room back there on either side to get something in there.

I remember some bikes I used to have I could just pull up hard on the lower part of the shock and turn it to the desired position.  Tried it on the 500 and they wouldn't budge.

This should be cool for her since she's never ridden before.  Or it might scare the daylights out of her.

You can also get this tool if you buy aftermarket shocks, I got it when I bought new racing rear shock for Piaggio NRG...

I have the tool for my P250 but I was able to adjust the ride on my shocks by grabbing the adjuster with a leather roping (i also use then in the garden and during summer rides, like the CHP) glove and turn.  It worked great on both sides and I didn't need to remove the air filter box lie the service guide says. If you are strong enough, this may be a free solution.

Or try a rubber strap wrench. Worked great for me. Mettyfish
