Factory Exhaust or Leo Vince
« on: March 29, 2010, 10:26:18 PM »
As you may have read in my other posting.  My exhaust is dead.

I assume I will need to adjust the carb or rejet with a new muffler.  Should I also do the Uni conversion at the same time?  Does anyone have a photo of what the UNI looks like on a Kymco?

Most likely re-jetting w/ a different pipe. Also the same w/ the uni filter. If you do them both 3-5 sizes larger on the main, and a richer mix on the pilot. When you pick up your parts, add 3-4 spark plugs so you can color compare them at diff. rpm ranges to be sure the jetting is correct.

This is an S 250, right?

AFAIK, no after-market pipe is available for the P 250.

The pipe cracked behind the heat shield's mounting stud.  The crack runs all the way around the pipe.

A Uni is an air filter.

This is one installed on a carb.

This one is installed on a GY6 engine

I don't know which one to use.

I just got a message that the one that was on the website as being a P250 was only for the B&W and GV.

I guess I go factory... or custom. Gotta call Bosco.  :-[

As tot he filter.. it an airflow thing but since I a going to go with the factory part, I may stick with the standard air box to make life easy.  I may change later.

Yep; the Leo Vince web site does not list a P250 as an option for any of their pipes. The PS250, yes; P250, no.

Game over....

I ordered the factory muffler... $194.49, delivered to my house. I ordered from a semi-local dealer.  I had a beer with the guy, standing in the courtyard of a bar over 300 miles from either of our homes/jobs.

I thought the Stadium price was about $200 for just the part, plus shipping.

Try a left hand twist drill bit to remove the broken remains of the bolt. It may catch as it is drilling, and simply spin the piece out. Have you thought about having a sleeve welded over the crack? Just to get you by untill you get the replacement... Sometimes if it weren't for bad luck...

Let's put it this way... when I took the two remaining bolts of the muffler proper... the muffler hit the ground and the heard piece was still attached to the engine.

The  old muffler sounds like there is a rock inside of it.  ... think... thiunk
