Malossi Mulitvar from Italy ?

Ok, so there's an ebay listing for a new Malossi Multivar in Italy (10 available) for $219.00 US dollars.  Malossi USA wants $349.00 for one, plus shipping, of course.   I'm estimating shipping on the one from Italy might be around 68 bucks.  That'd be $287.00 or so, to my door. 

Any reason not to do it that way?  I don't mind waiting a couple months for it to get here. 

Anyone here have experience ordering from overseas?  Is it "iffy"?

Did you see that most sellers ship worldwide EXCEPT to Italy and Nigeria?

Agreed! Look at the sellers info on ebay... # of transactions, feedback, sellers store if they have a link to that, and finally google the shop name to see if there is any info there. Try to find their Phone # thru an independant source, and see if someone answers w/ a Hello, or Thank you for calling xyz! How can I help you? I deal w/ world wide shipping on everything from scoot parts to clothes, and I found the norm. to be 2 weeks. As Malossi is an Italian company it does make sense there would be an outlet there that can compete w/ the pricing here. Don't be scared, just cautious. I have a Debit card, and NO BANK INFO set up just for ebay. It is safer to have the exact amount for the transaction. Ebay has a bad rep for holding/freezing funds above, and beyond the transaction amount themselves. Can't wait to see you Rok, and Rollin' tho!

Thanks Axy and Zombie.  Good advice from both.  I guess I'm in the thinkin about it phase, but when I get that way, it usually ends up with a purchase.  Yes, that ebay seller has an ebay store and I found their website too.  Looks legit so far. 

The Xciting is pretty darn rock n rollin fun already but, reading all you guy's postings about upgrades and hop-ups has given me the bug.  Besides, faster is better.

Today I took off the back half of the variator/tranny dust cover because it looks like the worlds biggest eggplant to me.  I see no need to have it on there.  Looks and runs fine without it. 

I also have my eye on a euro headlight assembly with the three lights on ebay.  I'm hoping there are connectors for the extra lights under the fairing somewhere.

The fairing lights are the EURO blinkers. Remove the wires from the stalk blinkers, and install them to the fairing. You can catch a ticket for that tho.

Ah, well, now I see Scootertrap has the Multivar 2000 for the 500 for $260 which INCLUDES shipping.  So . . . Nevermind, Italy.

They also have a little disclaimer saying they no longer carry DR Pulley products at all.

Yeah, what's up with that? No more Dr Pulley products? I do like the sliders installed in my 500.

I installed the Dr. Pulley sliding weights too (SR2822 28gm). 

It definitely gives my xciting a more sporty feel. I can't tell if the sliding quality of the weights cause the better performance or simply the reduced weight (28 grams). The xciting revs differently and has a overall better acceleration and pickup speed. It does not effect top speed. Unfortunately it does effect fuelconsumption a little 
I noticed that the roller weights need to broken in, but after that, they really come alive.

Look for ' scooter_wolfpack ' on Ebay. It cost me $ 58,- including S&H.


Next stop different windscreen and Malossi variator, belt and clutch. I may buy them on ebay Italy. Look for ' amr-1984 '. Seems trustworthy; their feedback seems okay and prices are lowest I could find.

It's all good guile, We all try to pass along sites that save a few $'s. Sometimes I feel like a SPAMMER referring shops, but it is all in trying to help the next guy! Let us know how it works out...
