Both, depending on your definition of performance.

If you want acceleration go for the lighter sliders. But if you compare the stock rollers with the same weight sliders, the sliders have better acceleration and top end. The only problem that i keeps in happening is that they roll after running 120kph plus, even bought a 2nd set but still.

Now I am still using sliders on my malossi pulley

They even make 26 g. if you really want to take off.  They'll probably lower your top end speed and really affect your gas mileage badly though. 

Yeah, depends on what you want and what other mods you'll be doing.  I used the 31 g. sliders in conjuction with the Dr. Pulley HiT clutch with stiffer springs.  Got better acceleration and revs are normal at mid to top end.

I must admit that after several months something must have started to wear out.  I say that because take off revs came back down to pre-mod levels.  I'm just guessing the clutch springs have weakened over that time.  The clutch came with something like 8 or 9 sets of extra springs in various strengths so I'll be looking at replacing them soon.

if you noticed a change in the performance better check the sliders. That's what i always notice on mine everytime the sliders roll

By the way , what is the weight of the stock rollers ?

Stock weight is 30g.  I reckon the Dr. Pulley 31g are supposed to be the "stock" equivalant. 

Hey, Drifter, yes I thought about that right after I posted.  I'll check and report.

Drifter, I looked at my sliders and they were still in place properly so I must blame the performance change on something else.  I'm thinking either the clutch springs or the torque driver.  I didn't go into all that when I had it open. 

One thing I did notice which didn't really affect anything was that the boss in the variator had become dry and dirty with some ugly substance, making the moveable face not move easily and smoothly.  I cleaned it with WD-40 and applied the thinnest film of motor oil to it -- then wiped it mostly dry before reassembly.

is it just me that's having problems with the sliders? Even on my malossi variator the sliders roll on high speeds.

Oh i forgot to mention... That loss of power also happened to me when the diaphragm of the carb got swollen. I'm on my 2nd set of diaphragm.

Now that I have to drop over a $1,000 on a new drive train I have a different opinion of the Dr. Pulley sliders. They were installed and at at 15k miles went bad. One broke and took out a bunch of parts.

I think the problem was a combination fo the mechanic that installed my new drive belt not checking the sliders and variator, and the fact that I did not insist he tear it down when I took it back after hearing a terrible noise.

Oh well, lesson learned. Next time I insist.

The good thing is that when I found out how much it was going to cost to get the '07 fixed, I looked around and found an incredible deal on an '09 with only 1300 miles. Ruby red color. Love the fi over the carb. '09 much more lively.
