Well then! There are really 2 issues here. One is a new scoot that obviously has an issue, and the second is the dealer being qualified to repair it. There is NO WAY the dealer can back out and tell you yo live w/ it so as I see it while patience may be a virtue... It is not mandatory. Once the trouble is found it may be easier to like the scoot. There are soo few parts it could be that the dealer can easily replace them all and still be paid from Kymco for the warranty repair, and MAYBE get a qualified tech. to help out even if only part time, as they really do not break down. Give the guy a few days.

Lammy , it sounds to me like you and Kymco have "irreconcilable differences" . As a twice married and now happily divorced person I can say with some athority sh** happens . Since you are intent on a 150 cc scooter I would like to suggest that when you get your people running you take it to the nearest Honda shop and trade it for a sh150 i . I have owned several Hondas and they are rock solid reliable . At this point I really don't see you ever enjoying or trusting your Kymco . Good luck .

If I could do it over again the mighty Honda would have been purhased, even if it is $1400 more.  However, now faced w/ the depreciation issue of the kymco, cost is too exhorbinant.

Are you guys telling me that kymcos really aren't pos's????

I have heard it said that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery . The Honda sh150i is Hondas polished and updated copy of the people 150 . Look at it closely and tell me it ain't so . Nuff said ?

In the 88 miles I put on it, and other than it stalling occasionally, this scooter ran and handled great.  The larger wheels and good suspension made it better handling than competitors.  Motor actually runs great.  Believe it or not I am considering a 250 Kymco for myself.  The dealer has installed a new magneto today @ 9:30 am and I am waiting to hear how that went.  Apparently, my excitement to resolve this issue has made me a bit of a pest and I have been calling / visiting the dealer's mechanic too much.  Owner explained this to me in no uncertain terms.

I really do hope you resolve your issues and find the scooter that puts a smile on your face . And by the way congratulations , it takes a big man to admit a mistake ! Good luck and enjoy your scoot , whichever one you end up with .

Thanks.  My wife (who will be riding this scoot) just stopped at the dealers.  He was very supportive and offered a new replacement if not reparable-unlikely.  Also, they have talking w/Kymco and were actively working on the scoot while she was there.

Its good to hear you are making some progress. Sometimes things seem pretty bad but once you get past the rough spot you can look forward and enjoy it all that much better. Happy scootin'.

Time for an update.  The dealer promised to replace the 150 w/ a new replacement if problem could not be resolved.  So, after arriving Fri (day 6), the head mechanic had spoke to Kymco and checks of the wiring harness were needed with possible replacement of the harness.  I pretty much lost it and stated the time had come to go the replacement route.  The dealer has replaced my problematic peop 150 w/ a new, great running scoot and I commend and recommend him for it.  I will likely buy another machine in the future and will give positive press:  Griffin Motosports, Schenectady, NY...great customer support.

Now THAT'S what you call a resolution!  Happy and safe scootin', Lammy.

Don't forget to tell your insurance you got a new one as a replacement with new VIN number.

Guess you gotta transfer your tag/registration too huh?

The dealer handled the paperwork very efficiently.

If People owners would state their miles acculated and repairs required (not normal maintenance) that would make for a good read.  Thanks.
