shawgb,
What was the outcome of your brake problem? I know it was several months ago, just wondering. I'm new to Kymco. I do my own brake fluid service and have for years after a Honda shop left air bubbles in my hydraulic clutch that left me stranded on a Gold Wing, two up, pulling a trailer, and going up a mountain!!
Since then, 1986, I have done my own brake/clutch fluid changes, on three touring motorcycles will no problem. The difference is I take my time, and make sure I have done a good job. Dealer techs sometimes get rushed so they can fix the next bike and don't take the time to do a slow thorough job.
For those that have soft spongy brakes that may have an air bubble (s), a simple trick to try is tie the brake lever back overnight. Sometimes the air bubble will expel itself. If that doesn't work, flush the system. That was posted on a Gold Wing site and several friends did it and it worked.
I too am finding out that good, factory trained Kymco techs are hard to find.
