Maintenance questions
« on: April 25, 2010, 10:09:38 PM »
Hello,
I've got a People S 250 and I'm beginning to do my own maintenance.  I've got two questions:

1. Is there an oil filter on the S 250 that needs to be changed?  I know about the oil filter screen, which needs cleaning, but most bikes seem to also have an oil filter you have to change regularly, and I can't find any information about an oil filter in my manual.

2. The console is blinking "Service".  I believe it's tied to the speedometer, and activates at regular intervals to indicate regular maintenance.  How do I reset it to stop it from blinking "Service"?

Thanks!!!

unfortunately - no filter for oil, other than that silly screen.  on the service light issue - I can't help you but I am sure its on this sight or the owners manual.  I am pretty sure it has been asked and answered a bunch.  good luck.

The service light may be like on the P250.  In the plastics below the speedo face is a rectangular hole.  You insert the scoot's key and press firmly.  I am not sure your's is the same.

Do you have the owners guide?

owners manual - "press and hold button A and B until 2 seconds simultaneously to rest to zero when at service function"  Now I have to fugure out  how to get to service function.  Looks like hold 5 for 5 seconds to get into service mode.  Try that!

I didn't mean for this to an RTFM moment...but I guess it actually works some times.

Good luck!

READ
THE
F******
MANUAL

Just kidding.. just some geek humor.

It is a common acronym about why people call the help desk when they have the answer, in the manual you handed them not two-hours before at the training class they just left..  :-\

Is that what that book was for? I thought they were trying to sell me something! Oh well I'll just use the one that came w/ my ex wifes car. It has a lot of pictures in it.

ahhhhhhhh...if you are looking for humor - the owners manual is loaded - why they don't have a native language person proofread is beyond me.  And worse the info is messed up and not to be completely trusted.  My Aprilia manual was exactly the same - funny to read and hard to make sense of.

Thanks ispud, You got a lot o giggles outa me. I can't figure the rhyme or reason behind them. Most likely the entire publishing/layout is out sourced to the US in a trade deal. (of course WE send it to Mexico to be done). Soo Taiwan/Chinese/English/Spanish/ to Whatever. We are all lucky there are picts. of scoots in the manual.

These idiots print manuals (especially repair), refer inside to P250S but in fact, all pictures show P250, which is completely different scooter, especially in terms of Tupperware removal. I have never seen real P250S manual.

The Service Guides I have for my P250 have pages specific to the removal of tupperware on the P250 and a second section for the P250S

Then you are very lucky. Even manuals you can buy online have title "P250S" but in fact show P250...

Off the web.  Here is a link to the book I was talking about that discusses the frame covers (tupperware)
