One way to put it into perspective, if you get a wheelbarrow and pump the tyre up to 15psi and load it with dirt and try to push it and then pump the tyre up to 30psi the difference is amazing, and so it is with your scooter, easier running, a little more speed and better economy.

Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

A guy was killed yesterday while repairing truck and pumping the air ...
It blew up at 8.5 bar, while the pressure should be 9 bar... so he did not overdo it.

The newspapers say that such a case is unheard of (at least here).

Sorry for his family! Tires are time bombs.

I was parked next to a woman at a gas station last summer who was filling the front tire on her care when it EXPLODED!!!!  It was pretty crazy how much force was behind it!!! :o   Luckily she was ok, just quite stunned, as was I!!!!

Yeah, same thing with a bicycle.  A lot easier to propel when the tires are pumped up hard versus when they are low on air.

there is a mark on the tire of how much pressure it can take at max,,1.9bar front 2.2bar rear is maximun,on my city,, i think 9bar is way to much,,the pressure gets higer when its get warmer outside and by riding the bike the tire gets a lot warmer,,and the origanal scooter tires are mostly of poor quality and are some times dangerus to use,,,cst is ok,,but il will change the tire to pirelli or continental..to ride safe when its wet outside.

The sidewall rating does take into account the heat from riding, and the ambient temp. There are lots of posts about pressure. I like a soft tire over inflated vs a hard tire under inflated.
