...buyer beware!!!!!!!!!!...

...be careful when buying aftermarket belts if you're trying to get "performance" from your scoot....

..lesson learned...

...so, my belt measured a little narrow, in reference to the service manuals spec of 17.5 mm...(17.1)..

..thot id get me a new belt and i did, a WSTANDARD brand, and the cardboard sleeve said it was a 17.9 mm wide..and i thot...COOOL!!!...

...i installed it and did nothing else just to see what the difference in performance the new belt made....

..acceleration thru mid range kinda bogged down...and at @ 82 kmh i felt a distinct ...>SLIP<... in the cvt and it would go no faster...

..which was kinda a good thing because it made me fine tune my main jet....that'sa whole nuther story...

..well i had a 25 mph tailwind today and the slip was exponentially enhanced...

..i open th cvt and remove the new belt...it measured 16.6 mm wide..wtf??!!...

..put my old belt back in...fought the 25 mph headwind for about 6 miles which went fairly well...i was encouraged...

..came back down th' roadwith th' tailwind and ran 90 kmh top speed and not lower than 75 for the whole run back home...

..i love my A50......

....sssso..take your dial indicators if you're gonna buy an aftermarket belt.....

peace

Hey wordslinger, yep, buyer beware, still fiddling with my (not so cheap) cylinder kit, it would have been better to buy a brand name but I tried to save a few bucks and got a whole new learning experience from it.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

With all these parts it takes dollars to get doughnuts. The bargain brands always leave out the U-H
